Title: Anyone still using old Visual Basic 6 software? (MS12-60)
Post by: Gregg on August 15, 2012, 12:23:41 AM
If you are running some old VB6 software because you just can't live without it (I am), read further.

Unless it's one of very few MS titles, chances are you will not get the update today. Most 3rd party software written in VB 6 installed the vulnerable component (mscomctrl.ocx) and you probably should manually download and install the update:

Supported operating systems: Windows 7, Windows 7 Service Pack 1, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2, Windows Vista Service Pack 2, Windows XP Service Pack 3

Yes, I read that too which is great. I do not plan on ever running Windows 8 though.
