Title: VC11 builds coming soon.
Post by: Gregg on August 06, 2013, 08:38:03 PM
Since PHP 5.5 is being built on Visual C++ 2012 (VC11), and now that I have my full internet speed again to get to my VM to build on, Apache Haus is going to start distributing VC11 builds of Apache 2.4.x.

Since VC11 builds do not run on Windows XP or Server 2003, and XP/2003 does not End of Life (EOL) till April of 2014, 2003 R2 sometime in 2015, we will still have our Visual C++ 2008 (VC9) builds also. PHP 5.4 is built with VC9 as well so we may as well keep producing VC9 builds.

We will only be building Apache 2.4.x in VC11, Apache 2.2 is considered legacy now by the ASF so it will remain being built only in VC9. At some point we may decide to stop building 2.4.x in VC9, but that will have to be determined at a later date.

Some things still remaining:

Some of the above is partially done and I will be working on completing this through the week as time permits.

Just to keep you in the loop. The x86 build of mod subversion (svn) 1.8.1 with VC11 works now after some trouble shooting. YAY!
