Title: 5.4.0 beta2 is out
Post by: mario on October 20, 2011, 10:20:18 AM
I've done some benchmarking with 5.3.8 and 5.4Beta2. As benchmark script I took http://svn.php.net/viewvc/php/php-src/branches/PHP_5_4/Zend/micro_bench.php?view=co

PHP 5.4 is much faster than 5.3.x

results 5.3.8
http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=52s1kzMa

results 5.4
http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=1AU10Adf

Hardware
CPU: Intel T4200 @2GHz
RAM: 4GB

with 2.2.21?
with fcgid or running as module?

either way, faster is faster and either one would be faster.

Personally, I thought there were still problems with 5.3.8? If so, wish they would focus on fixing those before running ahead on 5.4

Rumors tell me that 5.3.9 is coming before 5.4.0. And might come soon.
