 I have just upgraded my OS from 2003 to 2008, my apache install was on e:/ and has not been touched, can install apache fresh and copy the old apache folders back , i plan to install apache in the same e:\

I do not see any need to install Apache fresh unless you used an installer from apache.org. If not, and everything is same as far as drive letters, just install the Apache service from a command prompt running as Administrator.

httpd -k install
