This some days there are noises about the end of lifetime (EOL) from apache 1.3
Any comments on that?

Gregg

Yeah ... 1.3.42 will be the last release. Over 11 years that old dog has been serving pages and I find it surprising there are still so many of them out there to this day. I built the 1.3.42 test tarball the other week and almost forgot how to do it.

I believe they are going to get out a 2.0.64 soon with a EOL of 1 year from whenever they get the release out.

now 1.3.42 released is out and in the mail was the subject Apache HTTP Server 1.3.42 released (final release of 1.3.x). Good bye 1.3

Today Bill wrote he's gonna remove 1.3 from the download page.

Gregg

I see no reason for it to stay,  I think the actual tarball will remain in /dist. If there ever is a security update to it it will be put out in patch.

mario

Nope they wanna move it to archive.apache.org At least that is the plan.
