I just thought I'd post a note about some of the things coming in Apache 2.4.5 ... whenever it gets here.

mod_lua
mod_lua has had quite a bit of work done to it the past couple months, in fact, you might not recognize it anymore! If you're a big fan of LUA, I think you will be very pleased.

mod_cache_socache
If you were a fan of mod_mem_cache in Apache 2.2 and have succumbed to depression because it is not in 2.4, there is light at the end of the tunnel. mod_cache_socache is the mod_mem_cache replacement in 2.4 and it will make it's debut in 2.4.5.

mod_macro
Fabien Coelho, the author of mod_macro, donated the module to the Apache Software Foundation. It will debut as an official included module in 2.4.5.

mod_proxy_wstunnel
If you have a need to proxy web-socket connections, you will now have that opportunity come 2.4.5.

Lots of bugs smashed and some new little features here and there. Even a new version of APR was released yesterday to go with it.
